The Valley Bluegrass Jam has been a part of the Roaring Fork Valley since 2009. Over the years the jam has moved to various locations based on who can offer a welcoming home for “pickers” to jam. We quickly offered up our Barrel Cellar patio for their summer home.
Our very first jam at the Barrel Cellar was on June 4th and let’s just say that it was a toe tapping – knee slapping good time!
Players aka “pickers” joined together to spontaneously jam some classic bluegrass tunes while family and friends gathered around to take in the sights and sounds.
Each participating player receives a free beer on the house (between 4-5PM), hydration is key. Our Helles Lager, Slide Hazy IPA Collab with Outer Range Brewing Co. and of course our Fruit Stand – Black Raspberry Farmhouse Ale were crowd pleasers for those who watched and those who participated.
Everyone said we should do it more often! So we are considering every other weekend in the months of July and August. We will offer a wide variety of beers on draft and in the bottle along with some kids beverages as well!
If you love live music, good beers and beautiful views, this is the perfect Saturday evening event for family and friends. Come watch the sunset, with the river flowing beneath you and listen to bluegrass fill the air.
